Can I suggest someone I don’t know personally? I don’t have their contact details.

Is there a deadline for suggesting a speaker?

We accept nominations all the time. It’s best to get your suggestions to us as early as possible, so we can research them carefully and make the best decision on the speaker roster.

Can I get a longer slot?

We strictly enforce the clock for all speakers. Our stage is the place to condense your ideas into a compelling 30-minute talk that communicates your best ideas.

How do you compensate speakers?

As a community-oriented event, we do not pay speakers. We do, of course, cover travel costs and provide excellent hotel accommodation - as well as a VIP pass to all talks, lectures, and activities. Most speakers stay for the whole conference, soaking up the talks and connecting with other attendees. Other benefits include speaker dinner, special events for networking, the gift bag, professional videos and photos. We are committed to creating an experience that’s tremendously fulfilling and beneficial on all sides.

What can be reimbursed? How?

We will reimburse flight/train tickets and visa fees by cash or bank transfer.

Do I need to provide fapiao (I live abroad)?

Any reimbursement needs to be supported by a local Chinese invoice (fapiao). Any questions please contact [email protected]

How long is accommodation provided?

The days covering the conference and one additional day before the conference will be reimbursed.

Can I request which hotel I stay in?

We will provide you with a five star hotel near the conference venue.

Can I request a business class seat?

As UI/UX Conf is a non-profit event, speakers will be reimbursed for an Economy (non-refundable) ticket.

Is there someone who will show me around during my stay in Shanghai?

We have a team of volunteers that might be able to show you around, depending on scheduling/availability.

Will meals/drinks etc. be covered?

All breakfasts and lunches will be covered. We will also host a special speaker dinner for all speakers and media partners.

Can I bring my family/friend/partner?

You can bring one person with you, however we are unable to reimburse any of their related expenses.

Will I be paid for my participation?

We are not paying speakers as this is a non-profit effort.

Are you covering the material/logistic costs of my talk/workshop?

We will be covering costs of up to 500 RMB for a workshop. For talks, there should be no associated costs.
